Its digital, self-led menstrual cycle awareness courses are peer-reviewed by clinicians, academics and young people, and are indexed by ORCHA. The courses, underpinned by therapeutic practice, draw on an approach inspired by Red School.

MCS began with a 2021 pilot in socially and economically underserved communities and the courses remain free to users.

The first Independent Impact Report was announced in Parliament by the Women’s Health Ambassador, Dame Lesley Regan, demonstrating statistically significant improvements in menstrual wellbeing and healthcare confidence.

Since launching, MCS has worked with NHS social-prescribing teams, GP practices, schools, colleges and community organisations across the UK.

The MCS model has received major national awards, including Innovator of the Year at the International Social Prescribing Awards, and now informs wider personalised care approaches — including supporting students and staff through the MCS Schools Accreditation.
